Jerry Hagstrom is a prize winning journalist specializing in agriculture and food. Since 2011 he has produced The Hagstrom Report, a daily online publication. He also writes for DTN The Progressive Farmer and is a columnist for National Journal Daily in Washington. Hagstrom grew up in North Dakota where both sets of his grandparents were pioneer settlers. Before beginning to write about agriculture in 1996, he covered politics and state and local government for National Journal. He was long associated with Neal Peirce, whose column on state and local government was syndicated by the Washington Post and with whom he coauthored The Book of America: Inside the 50 States Today. Hagstrom is also the author of Beyond Reagan: The New Landscape of American Politics and of To Be: Not to Be Seen: The Mystery of Swedish Business. He lives in Washington and on the family farm near Wilton, North Dakota.
