Alexander Jaegerman
Alex Jaegerman, FAICP, has been director of Planning and Development in Yarmouth, Maine since 2015, where he instituted a form-based code in Yarmouth Village and Route 1, Main Street Streetscape Plan.
He also planned a Complete Street Plan for Route 1, design elements of Rt. 1 / Main Street bridge, the extension of the Beth Condon Memorial Pathway, and Yarmouth’s first local historic preservation program. Previously Jaegerman spent 34 years as chief planner for the City of Portland, Maine where he planned for historic preservation, the Bayside Vision and Bayside Trail, Downtown Vision, Waterfront and India Street plans, public art program and arts district plan, among many other projects and programs. Jaegerman holds a BA in Economics from Antioch College and a Master’s in City Planning from MIT School of Architecture and Planning. He serves on the board of directors of Portland Trails and Greater Portland Landmarks.
