Annie Hillary had a distinguished career with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and is currently engaged in volunteerism and translates her career accomplishments to fulfill her continued concerns for the environment.  At NOAA, Annie was recognized for her innovative work on marine protected areas.  She collaborated with UNESCO’s World Heritage Center to establish the Marine World Heritage Program that began a global initiative to recognize outstanding marine and coastal areas for inclusion on the World Heritage List.

Annie is currently engaged in volunteer efforts that fill her soul.  She is a volunteer at the National Museum of African American History and Culture, a Master Gardener and an Anne Arundel County Watershed Steward.  Annie also volunteered at the Banneker- Douglas Museum in Annapolis, Maryland and served as an Assistant Curator on the photograph collection of Thomas Baden.  She spent the summer 2017 working at Omega Institute Center for Sustainable Living.
