Gerald G. Green
Gerald Green has over 30 years of experience in Land Use/Project
Management. Mr. Green has served on Planning Agency staffs in Oakland, Martinez, San Luis Obispo (Co.) and the City & County of San Francisco (CA.).
In November 1996, then Mayor Willie Brown appointed Mr. Green Director of the San Francisco Planning Department (1996-2004).
During Mr. Green’s term, he played a pivotal role in managing and guiding unprecedented physical and social changes to San Francisco.
After leaving Local Government for the private sector, Mr. Green has represented, or participated on development teams for the SF Chinese Hospital in building a new hospital in Chinatown, YMCA of SF, Tabernacle Community Dev. Corp., Alvin Dworman Co. and numerous private equity, property owners, and Real Estate Investment Companies.
Currently, Mr. Green is leading the development of 224 residential units in San Francisco CA.
Mr. Green is a graduate of California State Polytechnic University San Luis Obispo (BS/City&Reg Pln ’78), and was awarded a Loeb Fellowship to Harvard University, Graduate School of Design (LF ’04). While Planning Director he was a founding member of the Treasure Island Development Authority, and formerly served as an appointed member of the SF Capital Improvement Advisory Committee, and member of the Regional Planning Committee for Association of Bay Area Governments. Finally, Mr. Green was honored by the Cal Poly St. University faculty as Cal Poly Alumni of the year in Architecture/Planning (1998).
