Heather Tremain
Heather Tremain’s career has focused on innovations in sustainable and social purpose real estate. In her current role she is the CEO of Options for Homes, one of Canada’s largest social enterprises and affordable home ownership providers. Located in Toronto, it aspires to address wealth inequality by enabling low and moderate income families to become homeowners. Using a unique shared equity approach, it has delivered over 4000 units without government subsidy. Prior to Options, Tremain was principal of Urban Fabric, a Vancouver consultancy that focused on community-based real estate solutions and supported the nonprofit sector to manage their real estate assets. For the decade prior she was principal and CEO of reSource Rethinking Building, a Vancouver green building consulting group. Under Tremain’s leadership reSource undertook its own leading edge green and affordable developments. She has a master in architecture from UBC, and an undergraduate degree in political science.
