Jean King managed the Hartford Action Plan, Hartford’s teen pregnancy prevention initiative. She served as senior staff consultant to the Connecticut Food Policy Council, undertaking research and advocacy work on the issues of food security in Connecticut. King’s other activities have included strategic planning, fund development, and business management for nonprofit programs that wish to promote historic preservation, urban park restoration, and housing rehabilitation, and she has conducted research on hunger and school based health centers. She is semiretired and is currently working on projects to restore historic parks and to create and improve sustainable agriculture.
