Kenneth Kruckemeyer is a longtime resident of Boston’s South End neighborhood and a founding member of the LivableStreets Alliance.

An activist at heart, he focuses on moving dreams to reality through advocacy, based on his experience in the public and private sectors.  In detail, he is a transportation strategist, specializing in the design of civil infrastructure, with a focus on integrated public transport systems, pedestrian and bicycle facilities, and roadway and bridge design.

Kruckemeyer was associate commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Public Works and project manager of the Southwest Corridor Project in Boston.  He taught transportation, engineering systems and urban design at MIT, and was co-director of the IHP “Cities in the 21st Century” program.
