P. Stevenson ("Steve") Oles
Paul Stevenson (“Steve”) Oles, FAIA, is a practicing architect, teacher and architectural visualist. A graduate of Texas Tech and Yale universities, he has taught at RISD, Yale, MIT, and Harvard. He received an AIA Institute Honor in 1983, and co-founded the American Society of Architectural Illustrators the following year. He is the author of two seminal books on drawing, and in 1989 was advanced to Fellowship in the AIA. In addition to his work in illustration, he heads Interface Architects, which has been responsible for the design and construction of elderly housing, energy efficient residential design, and bridge design–all were commissions won in regional competitions. His work in Santa Fe includes three residences, one of which provides a home and office for himself and his wife, Susan Thompson. His most recent project is a LEED Gold residence on a dramatic promontory overlooking the city of Santa Fe and the Sangre de Cristo mountain range.
