Scott Campbell
Scott Campbell is a conservation planner and consultant and the principal of Innovative Conservation Solutions, LLC. Scott’s expertise includes conservation planning, land and water protection frameworks, conservation finance, ecosystem service payment modeling, land use and water management integration, farm and ranch sustainability, fundraising, and collective impact process management.
Scott was the 2014-2015 Lincoln Loeb Fellow at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design and a joint fellow at the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy. Prior to his fellowship, he directed one of the country’s largest land trusts, the Palmer Land Trust, which under his leadership protected 50,000 acres of important natural, agricultural, and recreational lands—contributing to a 100,000-acre conservation portfolio. Before his time at Palmer, Scott served in the Colorado Office of Economic Development under Governor Bill Owens. There, he led the team that launched Colorado’s Heritage Tourism Program, helping communities capitalize on the more than $1.2 billion in natural and cultural resource preservation investments Colorado has made through the Great Outdoors Colorado Trust Fund and the Colorado State Historical Fund.
Scott is the recipient of Colorado College’s Livesay Award for Social Change, the American Society of Landscape Architect’s Jane Silverstein Ries Award (organizational award), and the Robert V. Menary Award for Excellence in Environmental Issues (organizational award). Scott earned his Master’s Degree in the field of education and taught Southwest Studies before moving into the natural and cultural resource preservation and community development fields. He enjoys complex, creative projects that don’t always have a road map for how to get from point A to point B.
