Working on his own or with others, Seitu Jones has created over 40 large scale public artworks. He integrated artwork into 3 LRT stations along the Green Line connecting St. Paul to Minneapolis. An award from the Joyce Foundation allowed Jones to develop CREATE: The Community Meal, a dinner for 2000 people at a table one-half mile long, focussing attention on access to healthy food and food justice. In addition, he worked with members of his neighborhood to create a 12 acre farm and park in St. Paul. Jones is the recipient of the Distinguished Artist Award from the McKnight Foundation and his HeARTside Community Meal in Grand Rapids, MI, was awarded the Grand Juried Prize for ArtPrize Nine. During his Loeb Fellowship he researched cultural landscapes. He holds a BS in landscape design and a MLS in environmental history from the University of Minnesota.
