Susan Chin, an accomplished architect, urbanist and civic leader, recently served as executive director of Design Trust for Public Space, a nationally recognized incubator that catalyzes New York City’s landscape with public agencies, community collaborators and design professionals since 1995.

Under her leadership, Design Trust received the esteemed Cooper Hewitt National Design Award and American Society of Landscape Architects Olmsted Medal, among others; advanced from founder-led to an independent nonprofit; and launched Five Borough Farm, Future Culture, Laying the Groundwork, Making Midtown, Under the Elevated, andWorld’s Park, and the Equitable Public Space Fellowship.

She served as assistant commissioner for Capital Projects at NYC Department of Cultural Affairs for over 20 years, supporting architecture and public art; and as American Institute of Architects board, 2013-2014 vice president; she received numerous awards–AIA New York State’s James William Kideney Gold Medal and Del Gaudio, and The Ohio State University’s Distinguished Alumna.
