Virginia Prescott, LF’02, is an Edward R. Murrow and Gracie Award–winning audio journalist, producer and host.

She is president of School of Humans Audio, where she is executive producer of podcasts made in partnership with iHeartMedia.

The founding host of the top-10 podcast Civics 101, Virginia previously worked on NPR’s On Point and Here and Now and was part of the Peabody Award–winning team for Jazz from Lincoln Center with Ed Bradley. As host of flagship programs for New Hampshire Public Radio and Georgia Public Broadcasting, she has interviewed thousands of authors and public figures—from Salman Rushdie to Justice Sonia Sotomayor. She continues to moderate conversations with leading thinkers and writers for cultural institutions in Atlanta and across the country.

Throughout her career, Virginia has helped build independent radio in the developing world and trained journalists in post-conflict zones from the Balkans to Sierra Leone. As an audio artist, she created sound installations for Project Row Houses and MIT’s Center for Reflective Community Practice.
