Kamal Bell
Kamal Bell is the founder of Sankofa Farms, a regenerative agriculture and education organization in North Carolina integrating food production, youth education, pollinator stewardship, affordable housing, and community economic development.
Since 2016, he has led farm operations spanning crop and livestock production, land stewardship, and distribution through wholesale, CSA, and community partnerships. Through key community partnerships, he has helped distribute more than 15,000 pounds of fresh food, growing weekly reach from 500 to over 1,100 food-insecure children since 2021.
Kamal is the author of Akeem Keeps Bees (Storey Publishing, 2025), a children’s book advancing early literacy, STEM learning, and environmental education. A nationally featured speaker, he bridges agricultural science, housing stability, and community food systems with both technical expertise and lived experience.
